Job Description

 

Position:         Staff Accountant


Summary:        Performs duties associated with accounting functions, knowledgeable in areas of general accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparation of financial statements, and management accounting. Reports directly to CFO.


Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Process, batch, code, and input invoices into the accounting system ensuring appropriate backup documentation is maintained and attached.
  • Prepares Financial Reports (i.e., Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable)
  • Payment of Bills and the maintenance of all verification as required of a non-profit organization.
  • Review invoices thoroughly to confirm billings are in accordance with contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and packing slips; verify prior balances are accurate and all invoices are paid timely.
  • Responsible for the accounts payable system and disbursement of funds required to conduct corporate business.
  • Reviews purchasing activities to ensure that purchases are within approved budget limitations and comply with federal and state agencies.
  • Responsible for reconciling daily deposits received from clinic locations followed by entry into the accounts receivable system.
  • Process daily accounts receivable from the billing department into the accounts receivable

system.

  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Provide other duties as may be assigned and/or needed.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting and a minimum of two years of experience in accounting. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate information, files, and reports for accounts payable and accounts receivable purposes. Ability to work effectively with a minimum amount of supervision. Ability to plan and carry out multiple assignments. Knowledge of record keeping and filing practices.


Salary:

Based on experience and at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer with consent of the

Board Personnel Committee.
